Two Smashing Athletics World Records on CONIPUR SW 

Congratulations to Kenenisa Bekele (ETH) and Stacy Dragila (USA) who smashed two world records on the CONIPUR SW track at the Golden Spike Super Grand Prix in Ostrava (Czech Republic).

In a brilliant 10000 m race Bekele (26:20.31) beat the Haile Gebrselassie's six-year-old record by more than two seconds.

Stacy Dragila jumped 4.83 m, the highest ever outdoor jump in Women's Pole Vault history.

Perfect weather conditions, an incredible audience and a fantastic running track were the basis for another five 2004 world leading performances:

1500 m Men: Alan Web (USA) in 3:32.73

800 m Women: Maria Mutola (MOZ) in 1:57.72 

3000 m Steeplechase Women: Cristina Casandra (ROM) in 9:34.36

400 m Hurdles Women: Yuliya Pechenkina (RUS) in 53.99

Javelin Men: Alexandr Ivanov (RUS) with 87.73 m

The next major events on CONIPUR tracks are the Golden Gala in Rome Olympic Stadium (2 July) and Athletissima in Lausanne (6 July on a recently installed CONIPUR M surface).
